Copper and Aluminum Alloy Sand Mold Casting Technology Process Analysis and Application Practice

2025-10-22

I. Sand Casting

Sand casting is the most commonly used method for copper alloy casting. It uses sand molds as the casting material and pours molten copper alloy into them to produce castings. Sand casting offers advantages such as low cost and wide adaptability, making it particularly suitable for producing large, complex copper alloy castings. However, sand casting also has some disadvantages, such as poor surface quality and low dimensional accuracy. Therefore, strict control of the sand mold quality and improved pouring temperature and speed are required during the sand casting process to improve the quality and performance of the casting.

II. Metal Mold Casting

Metal mold casting is a casting method that uses metal molds as the casting material. Compared to sand casting, metal mold casting offers advantages such as good casting surface quality, high dimensional accuracy, and high production efficiency. Metal mold casting is suitable for producing small, high-precision, and high-quality copper alloy castings. During the metal mold casting process, attention must be paid to the mold preheating and cooling processes, as well as the control of pouring temperature and speed, to ensure the quality and performance of the casting.
